Propane (R290) is increasingly common on smaller commercial packs and self-contained equipment. It offers strong efficiency and a very low GWP, with charge-size and safety rules that must be respected.

Ventilation, electrical standards, leak response and competent engineers all matter. Propane is highly efficient, but it is flammable and must be treated accordingly.
Independent advice
EJM specifies the refrigerant that suits the duty. Sometimes that is propane; sometimes ammonia, CO₂ or another solution is better. We start with the application, not a preferred brand.
